"Terence"- He’s made a good living as a cubicle-dwelling computer programmer but really fancies himself a filmmaker, a hobby he pursues in his free time. He’s a Left-leaning, vegetarian pacifist content to grow soft in his comfortable lifestyle. Until flesh-chomping meatbags start attacking that is.

| "Jesse" - A no-nonsense, pistol-packin' preppy chick who by some quirk of human nature finds Terence strangely attractive. She signed on for one night crewing on his indy film, but when events spiral out of control with the rising of the dead she finds herself caught up in a frantic and perilous journey through the undead wilderness to freedom and just maybe something more elusive.

| "Sandra" - Terence's younger sister, she's a regular bit player in his low-budget productions. Prissy and a little high strung, when the dead get uppity she doesn't adjust well.
| "Marilyn" - Of all the days for the end of civilization to happen it had to be the one when she was shacked up with a gun-toting crazy determined to cross a city full of lumbering flesh-munchers on some ill-conceived rescue mission. She loads up and heads out, but she won't pretend to be happy about it.
| "Chet" - A legend in his own mind, he's just the sort of friend to complicate an already complicated situation. As though psychotic cannibalistic corpses weren't enough to worry about...
| "Jim" - The end of the world? It's about damn time. He's not worried, they're slow and stupid, they go down when you shoot 'em in the face. How hard can it be?
